Horgos Europe's Southern Gate, the closest settlement to the Serbian-Hungarian border and also the edge of the Schengen territory. The majority of its population is "Vojvodina Hungarian". Their attachment to the land means the survive, and the Subotica-Szeged railway is what is linking the two countries.In 2015, a technical borderlock was built first in Europe here by the hungarian government, to hold up refugees. The result of the border closed, that the refugees and the locals were trapped here. The disorderly situation had a negative impact on everyone's life: Starving and tired refugees, desperate locals, ruined farms, and finally the closed railways.As local "Vojvodina Hungarian" say, "After the Yugoslav Wars, history has gone through us, again."What happened to the people here and the border lock that changed people's lives?The migration crisis has been ongoing for many years and a people-centered settlement of the situation is still unsolved. Nations and cultures who are strangers to each other meet in a continued fierce situation.
